Stage:
- ripe red tomato slices
- cucumber sliced
- blueberries
- sliced or crumbled fresh cheese (i have a mozzarella fresca ball)
- basil, and other fresh Mediterranean type herbs
- bread, for toast
Your salad has been served with a generous dollop of hummus on the side. 1/4 cup of hummus is a single serving. (70-80 calories)
When do you stir it in? Where?
This wonderful fresh tomato and basil, with fresh Mozzarella doesn't want to be smeared in sauce!
The toast doesn't mind one little bit when it gets smeared.
Toast, and especially toasted light-rye bread can be cut up into crouton like squares, and smeared with hummus; once smeared, the squares can return to the salad, as an ingredient on the side of the bowl.
Or, you can skip the bread and have another single serving of hummus.
